OMG, sellout!

Great systems administrators do not show up at work in the mornings, have some coffee and a biscuit, and then decide to install a server operating system because they have got a few hours before lunch.  Great system administrators work with a plan.

That’s right folks!  Great system administrators plan their coffee and biscuits ahead of time and we all know what they do with a few hours before lunch;  they plan where they will have their lunch, read Slashdot and their daily comic strips, then mark all unread email as marked so they can get down to business: play some Quake.

All that aside, those were the first few opening lines of the “Windows Server Administration” Training Kit.  That’s right, I am doing an MCITP course, the Enterprise Administrator certification to be exact.  I am keen to broaden my knowledge of Microsoft operating systems so I can be a better technologies integrator and eventually an architect.  So now I am busy downloading the Vista DVD image from MSDN so I can get started installing some VMs with Vista and Windows Server 2008, all legally of course.

I wonder if my certification will come with a mark of the beast somewhere on my forehead.
